Consultation Research & Information (Stronger Communities)

A new post in the Northumberland County Council Corporate Research Unit (InfoNet) of Consultation Officer has recently been created. The post filled by Gillian Lavery who formerly worked in the Early Years Section of the County Council will advise other departments how to conduct better surveys and consultation, following best practice in efficiency and equality. Part of Gillian's role in the next few months will be to develop a consultation toolkit alongside policies and procedures to support consultation across the council.

Survey Results, Statistics & Information

Place Survey

The Place Survey provides information on people's perceptions of their local area and the local services they receive, replacing the Best Value User Satisfaction Survey. The survey collects information on 18 national indicators for local government, used to measure local government performance for 152 county councils, metropolitan district councils, London boroughs and unitary authorities.

Citizenship Survey

The Northumberland Citizenship Survey which was carried out over the summer of 2007. The survey was required to provide evidence for both the Local Area Agreement (LAA) and Northumberland Sustainable Community Strategy, specifically for areas on volunteering and older peoples (over 50) perceptions.
