Community Safety Support

The Corporate Research Unit supports the information and analysis needs of its community safety partners; those in Northumberland and at the Government Office for the North East and also acts as a sub-regional information source within the NE Region as a whole. The CDRP along with the CRU have established protocols/agreements for processing and sharing of data from Northumbria Police, Fire and Rescue, the Probation Service, Youth Offending Team and others.

Work is carried out to provide information and initial analysis of this data for inclusion in the CDRP Annual Strategic Assessement. Other specific analysis of particular problems and issues faced by CDRP’s; the DAAT; Care Trust; NCC etc. is provided on request. This has included baseline indicators for the Northumberland Alcohol Strategy; crime in and around selected Northumberland industrial estates, retail crime within Tynedale; alcohol related crime, domestic violence related crime and seasonal crime.

For more information on this area of work contact Myra Jamieson on 01670 533790 or e-mail infonet@northumberland.gov.uk.
